She was presented with the Gold Medal in the Summer of 2020. |
For this honor, Laalitya has had to focus on 4 different areas of improvement as outlined by the Congressional Communities. She had performed over 800 hours in the categories of volunteering, personal development, physical fitness and expedition/exploration. By the time she had achieved the Gold Medal, she worked for 1,000 hours on improving herself, her community and the entire world around her!
Laalitya's focus for this award has been centered around STEM. She has volunteered at local STEM organizations and developed multiple STEM education programs.. In addition, she has continued to work on her personal STEM journey. Inspired to continue her STEM Outreach programs, she decided to found The Nereid Project, an organization that focuses on STEM education and research. To learn more please visit thenereidproject.org |
