US Congress Intern for Senator Chuck Schumer

​Laalitya is a casework intern for ​Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer where she works with the constituents of New York to resolve any issues they may be facing. She works on a variety of concerns ranging from Social Security, US Academy Nominations, the IRS and more.
Over the course of the past few months, she has worked with hundreds of constituents in both New York and the US to help with any
bureaucratic or legislative concerns/issues that they may have.
Working in a congressional office has strengthened her passion for public policy and she hopes to continue this work within her future career!

Molecular Profiling and Data Science Intern at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals 

Laalitya was selected as a paid Summer 2021 Intern for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in the Molecular Profiling & Data Science department. This internship is normally only given to current college students, but to her previous work in AI, she was able to qualify for this position as a current high-school senior!
​In Summer 2021, she worked with Regeneron to assist in developing machine learning methods to model the antibodies/T-cells of the immune system. The goal was learn more about the immune system in order to further develop target validation for drug development.
She will be returning to Regeneron in Summer 2022 as a "wet-lab" intern for the Protein Sciences Department!

Instrument Specialist and Technician at Antonio Violins

Laalitya is an instrument technician and specialist at Antonio Violins. This local String-Instrument Shop is one of the most prominent in the area and works with local schools to provide high-quality instruments. 
Her responsibilities include maintenance and repair of the instruments, directing the new social media campaign and working with the customers to ensure success on their musical journey. 
As a lover of music and a violinist, this job allows Laalitya to work on something that she is passionate about, making it all the more enjoyable and rewarding. 
US Congress Intern for the Congressional Award Program
Laalitya was selected to intern with the US Congress over the summer. She decided to focus her internship on the Congressional Award Program because she had gained so much from the award and wanted to give back to it. Over the summer, she worked to develop multiple Volunteer Toolkits for students new to award, planned webinars on how to get involved with your community and networked with Congress Members and board members about advocacy. In addition, she worked with students to ensure that they had all the tools necessary to succeed in the program, even with the changes faced due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
She focused on STEM Advocacy as the core of her internship. She then created a webinar to introduce STEM research and outreach to participants and continued to mentor students on how to achieve their scientific goals. She was even invited to share her final project with the Board of Directors!

Procter and Gamble Resident Scholar Program
Laalitya was chosen as a resident in the Procter and Gamble Resident Scholar Program. She was the youngest in the scholar program but still received the MVP award for the entire program due to her dedication to STEM and her efforts through the development process
Through this residency, she was able to get an inside look at how research is progressed at the commercial level as well as be able to see how P&G continues to innovate based on the new technologies available.
