Science Fair (2016-2021)
Laalitya has been competitively participating in science fair since 2016, and non-competitively for 8 years. Science fairs have become a crucial part for her as they allow her to share her research with other academicians.
In 2019, Laalitya was named captain of her school science fair. Under her tenure, she has worked to grow this initially small team into the success that it is today. She also led the team to extremely successful Regionals and States Tournaments. She organizes the annual middle and high school science fair. In addition, she mentors and directs students on their own scientific research and the scientific process. |
Speech & Debate (2017-2021)
Laalitya has been a member of speech and debate since her freshman year, where her leadership and speaking skills lead to the joining of this team. She found her true passion in Program Oral Interpretation. She has ranked high in many tournaments throughout her freshman year, going on to win (rank 1st place) at the Moeller and Middletown Tournaments as well as rank in the top 6 numerous times. She qualified to the District Level tournament during her freshman, sophmore and junior year. And has qualified to State Tournament as well.

National Honors Society (2019-2021)
Because of her work in volunteering and community service, Laalitya was selected to be in National Honors Society.
She was the CoChair of the School-Wide LipDub to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LSS). This included working with local video production centers, organizing more than 4000+ staff and students as well as working with school administration to safely execute the LipDub. This event was extremely successful and raised nearly $20,000 for LLS. She also volunteers through NHS as a peer-tutor. This program is dedicated towards students who may be struggling in their classes and would benefit from a peer's input. As she has completed multiple AP classes, she usually works with the Honors/AP students to both help them understand the subject and to teach them study tips/skills for the future. |

National Merit Commended Scholar 2021
Spanish National Honors Society (2018-2021)
At the end of her freshman year, Laalitya was selected for the Mason Sect of the Spanish National Honors Society (SNHS). As a cabinet member of the society, she has contributed to the local, national and international Hispanic community, through fundraisers, letter writing and active volunteering in tutoring.

Philharmonic Honors Orchestra (2019-2o21)
Philharmonic Orchestra at Laalitya's school is an audition-only orchestra which competes at the state level of Ohio and nationally as well. This orchestra is very competitive and it audition/invitation only. Laalitya plays in the First Violin section for the group.
The orchestra has played at various locations throughout the US, including Chicago and Washington DC. They were also invited to play in the Chicago Symphonic Center. In addition, they are ranked very highly at the Ohio State Level year after year. |
Student Government (2015-2021)
Since middle school, leadership has been a very important part of Laalitya's life. She was a part of her middle school student government and now her high school one as well.
She has organized multiple fundraisers and activities for her school and even supported larger endeavors such as the school's homecoming dance.

National Junior Honors Society (2016-2017)
Laalitya was accepted in the Nation Junior Honors Society for her school when she was in 8th grade (2016-2017). That year her NJHS did many service projects from helping around the school, to raising donations for the leukemia and lymphoma society to making packets of food to help shelters and more!
