The Nereid Project

The Nereid Project is an organization working to end the water crisis through research, advocacy and policy. We are working to implement the Nereid device in my hometown, in India and in Nepal for beta testing in order to allow for early detection of microbes in water supplies for these regions. We host regular “water summits” and STEM education programming to encourage conversation and education about the global crisis, and we are also leveraging the legislation to ensure the codification of the right to clean water access.

COP28 Youth Delegate

I was selected as a Youth Delegate for the United Nation’s COP28 Summit to share my work in water advocacy and STEM policy. I spoke on multiple panels, interacted directly with heads of state, and continued to advocate for the presence of more youth voices.

The climate crisis is not going anywhere, so it is more critical than ever that we listen to the voices of the generation that will inherit these problems. We need solutions of high caliber and skill to be applied soon if we are to mitigate the effects of global warming and climate change. Especially as an invitee into COP’s “Blue Zone”, I was able to argue and negotiate for quantifiable that would support youth voices in these spaces.

NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony

On the last day of National Mentoring Month in 2023, I was invited alongside Etre Girls (a young women’s mentorship organization) to ring the closing bell at NASDAQ!

Coca-Cola Scholars Alumni Board Member and the 2021 SWALS (Sandy Williams Legacy Scholar)

I was chosen to represent the 2021 Coke Scholars on the Alumni Board, along with being selected as the 2021 SWALS. My role involves creating more opportunities for my scholar class including creating partnerships, supporting scholars to become more integrated into the alumni network, and developing programming for our yearly summits/events.

My cohort also was not able to meet in-person because of the pandemic, so there is a distinct gap within these “COVID scholars” who missed out on many in-person connections. This is a critical priority for me as I work to bridge the gap between various scholar generations.

Education Director for the Conrad Challenge’s Alumni Leadership Council

As the Education Director, my primary goal is to raise awareness about the Conrad Challenge to schools/regions where we are not very present, and to provide these areas with cirriculum and support so that we have global particpation! The Conrad Challenge is already an international competition and on the left you can see our final event’s participants for the 2023 Conrad Challenge (held in-person at Space Center Houston!).
